Colleen & Max I Heceta Head Lighthouse Oregon Coast Destination Wedding

Colleen and Max decided to have their wedding at Heceta Head Lighthouse Bed & Breakfast near Yahats, Oregon on August 17th 2013. Colleen & Max both live in Chicago and planned the entire wedding long distance. They decided long ago that the Oregon Coast would be the perfect place to have a destination wedding. Family & friends flew in from all over the country to be with them for the weekend. The day was a bit foggy but no one minded a bit, it was still warm and the clouds parted just after the ceremony to make for some amazing sunset pictures. Colleen & Max are driving back to Chicago then they will be flying off to Costa Rica for their honeymoon to spend some alone time and meet some sloths. šŸ™‚

The First Look

The incredible view from the Bed & Breakfast

Colleenā€™s Mother buttoning her dress. I donā€™t know how she did it there wereĀ at least a thousandĀ buttons!

Colleenā€™s Mother Terralyn hand-crafted all of the menā€™s Boutonnieres

I just love the umbrellas!

So handsome!

The signing of the Ketubah

Colleen was walked down the aisle by her Sister/Maid of Honor Cara DiltsĀ and Maxā€™s Brother/Best ManĀ Sam Schwartz

The Chuppa was hand sewn by Colleenā€™s Mother Terralyn Dilts

Wedding at Heceta Head Lighthouse reception

Cocktail hour on the patio of the Historic Heceta Head Lighthouse Bed and Breakfast

We had so much fun taking a little hike down to the beach to get this amazing group shot!

Cheers!

We couldnā€™t help it. We just had to pull them away for a quick portrait at sunset. It was a truly spectacular!

For their first dance they danced the Foxtrot to Peter Gabrielā€™s ā€˜The Book of Loveā€™

The cake was made by Colleenā€™s sister and Maid of Honor Cara and the toppers were lovingly hand-crafted by Colleenā€™s Mother Terralyn

This has to be one of my very favorite parts of a Jewish wedding!

They danced to Hava Nagila (Wikipedia says the melody was taken from a folk dance-song from BucovinaĀ a variant of Hora)

They wrapped over eighty bottles in yarn for favors so all the guests would have something to take home with them.

I was so sorry not to have been at the wedding. I got to see Aunt Terri in the process of her enormous pile of hand crafted beauties for this big event. I loved looking at these beautiful pictures. It made me feel like I hadn’t missed the whole thing!

Blessings to you Mr. and Mrs. Schwartz
